numbness in my pitching elbow?!?!?
im a junior in highschool and ive recently been working on my throwing. i throw about 86 max with some good spin on it. lately my pitching elbow (ive had tommy j on it before) been going numb after like 1 pitch. soon it gets to pins and needles like. the doctor says i have to get use to it and stuff and he see nothing wrong… am i doing something wrong? ive never had anything like this
It’s possible.
Have you been working out? If so what have you been doing (exercises, reps, sets, weights? Until fatigue?)
What do you do for warmups (before you play baseball and workout. Stretch, run? nothing?)
How’re your mechanics (do you have any videos of yourself pitching). What’ve you been doing in your bullpens? How many pitches/how much time does it take for you to throw your x amount of pitches and how many days a week?
Is it your pitching hand or the elbow that’s going numb? That’s the sign of a pinched nerve which you would want to get that checked out by a doctor. Some suggest it can be taken care of via chiropratics, they may suggest surgery, it’s best to look at all options.
Go see an orthopedic who specializes in this area, don’t be afraid to get a second opinion.
